Re_Birthday Thread

Ella shrugged, smiling innocently, "Whatever do you mean?" She looked completely out of the know, even though she was the only one that knew... Although she actually didn't know. She was just trying to be hopeful.

"I...do not know." Seemed she had confused Alex, at least.

Ella laughed, shaking her head, "Oh, Alex."

Alex starts getting a little pissy, as he usually does when he gets corrected. "Oh Alex what?"

Ella shook her head, "Nothing. You're just... Still the same. It's nice."

At this, Alex was at a loss for words. "Ah..." Usually someone didn't tell him 'acting like Allen' and meant it as a compliment. So far, according to Sam and Luka, it was a bad thing. "You...still act the same...as well..."

Ella smiled brightly, she loved Michaela more than any of her other incarnations, "Thank you!"

"Heh...no problem.." Rubbing the back of his head, Alex grins awkwardly, surprised by the turn of the conversation. He had to agree, though. Between the shitty mother, the whore, the insane town-killing psychopath, and Michaela, He had to agree Michaela was his favorite incarnation.

Ella held out her hand in an innocent, friendly gesture before asking. "Want to help me find Sam?"

"I doubt highly Sam would like me to be there when you find her." Wup...back to being negative and depressing. Darn, Al, you were doing so good for a moment.

"Please?" Ella begged, looking depressed, "I won't be able to find her on my own. Sam is smart, and Wally World is [i]huge[/i."

As always, Alex couldn't hold his own against the face. "Fine..." A small grumble came from the boy. "But I am not talking, so that she can not get madder at me."

Ella clasped her hands together, making a very loud clap-sound, while her grin returned, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Once again, Alex became bashful. "You are welcome..?" He honestly didn't know what he did to deserve thanks...especially since this would probably instigate a fight.

Ella nodded, not seeing his confusion then asked, "Split up? So that we can each look through half of the store?"

"Sure." With that, Alex went to searching. And with his luck? He'd find Sam first.

Even without his luck, he would.

Very true. So...Alex literally ran into Sam.

Sam stumbled back a bit, but she didn't fall, luckily. She saw Alex and flinched.

"Ah...Ella was looking for you...we...she was worried." Offering an apologetic smile for bumping into her, the boy's eyes were quickly averted to the floor. What a nice tile floor.

Sam nodded, knowing that if she asked Ella, the girl would undoubtedly tell her that she had asked Alex to help her and knowing that one could not simply turn down Ella's begging face with ease like she could. She hadn't even heard the 'we' that Alex had added, of course, her brain just automatically avoided the word like it hadn't been there. Sam cast her eyes down to the floor--what an ugly floor--and then back up to Alex's face. She then whispered, almost inaudibly, "I'm sorry." She hadn't wanted to fight with him, or to be rude to him. Sam just didn't want to be hurt again, she felt like she needed to protect herself from the people that she cared about now, so she wouldn't get betrayed again, especially when it came to Alex. Although she didn't know him very well in this life, she knew him from other lives, and that was enough for her to know that she had made a mistake, fighting so harshly with him.

"As am I..." Almost like a child being told he'd been wrong, he apologizes. He and Sam had generally always been on the same side. He wasn't supposed to fight with her like this. This was wrong as Allen and Germaine, and wasn't any better as Alex and Sam. That simple conversation hadn't been intended to be rude in the slightest bit.

Sam smiled slightly, glad he didn't seem angry with her.

Alex smiles slightly as well, and keeps his eyes averted to the floor.

Awkward silence.
